Nicky Wright

Nicky Wright hails from the Windy City Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape.

She has ridden and competed since she was 6 years old, over the years producing ponies and horses in all disciplines. Nicky is an International Riding Showing Judge and feels as a rider we all need to give back to our sport where we can, as her love is for showing she does her utmost to grow and support this discipline.

Nicky competed at her 1st SA championships as a Junior in 1987, representing the Eastern Cape in Dressage and Eventing. Since then she has represented her province in Dressage, Showing and Eventing over more than 30 years.

Her talent and passion lies with producing different horses successfully, often taking an average horse and making it special in its own way.

Some of her recent achievements are winning the 2019 HOY Supreme Ridden Championships on the warmblood Rivendell Hennessey (owned by Julia Tiffin).

The Same year she won the SA Individual Showing Championships title on her own Thoroughbred Barrel n Butt.  In between travelling she competes her own x breed Le-Roy in show jumping and Eventing. In 2020 she started the year on a good note at HOY, Barrel n Butt winning the Champion Adult Show Riding Horse and standing 5th in the Ridden Supremes.

Looking forward to the future Nicky has the lovely warmblood Santiago (owned by Kate Aitken) to produce in the show ring. She is also very excited to get going competitively in the Medium Dressage classes on Rathmor On Song and the Elementary Mediums on Rivendell Hennessey.

Nicky prides herself on keeping her horses in outstanding condition, Equi-Feeds caters for all her competitive horses needs and she is looking forward to the future.
