Mikaela Martin
Mikaela Martin is a 13-year-old show jumper from the South of Joburg. She started riding officially at the age of 4 and has been horse-mad since the day she was born, it is her absolute passion!
Mikaela’s goal is to go to the Olympics one day, and she hard every day towards achieving it. Some of her hobbies include Horse Riding, running, reading, baking and according to her mom, talking a lot, Mikaela says that she inherited my mother, Belinda Martin’s, verbal diarrhoea. Mikaela started out on school ponies and then was lucky enough to get to compete on a great string of ponies and horses including the incredible Midnight, Turkish Delight, Bella and Golden Dreamer. Mikaela feels very lucky to have such great ponies & horses in her life, who have taken such great care of her. Some of Mikalea’s biggest successes include winning the 2019 1:10m SA Champs & 2018 1m SA Champs and Victor Ladourum, the Penbritte Youth Cup 1:15, Cornerstone International Classique and Spring Fair 1m. Success’ she lends to her pony, Bronze Master. Mikaela enjoys spending time with her friends and family on weekends when she is not competing. She loves the excitement of a show and enjoys bathing her ponies and cleaning her tack the day before. “I love my horses so much and the best thing for me after a long day is giving my horses carrots, when they call for me it just makes my day!” Mikaela Martin |
