Luca Watson

Luca is 11 years old and started riding competitively in graded shows in 2018. He had a successful first outing at Nationals where he placed 2nd in the SA Championship, was awarded the Victor Ludorum & his Gauteng team secure 1st place in the Inter-Provincial Team Competition

Luca and Treat started competing in PR90’s in September 2019 and were selected to represent Gauteng at the 2019 SA Youth Inter Provincial Championships. They finished 2nd in the SA Championship and he once again helped Team Gauteng take Gold in the Inter-Provincial Team event.

Luca started competing in PR1m in July of 2020 and secured a 1st and/or 2nd place finish at every show attended and went on to win the 2020 Gauteng Championships in convincing fashion. SA Youth Championships 2020 saw him finish up as reserve champion for the 3rd consecutive year in a row, showing Luca to be a consistent, accomplished competitor who delivers reliably under pressure despite his young age. Luca was awarded Victor Ludorum at SA Champs and ended the 2020 season ranked 1st in SA.

Luca & Treat enter the Pony Rider Open classes in 2021 and their goal is win the Open SA Pony Rider Championships.
