Winning Formula - Dead-heat Durban July Champions are Equi-Feeds Fed

July 2008

Equi-Feeds feeds three of the first four horses past the post in Africa's greatest horse race, the Vodacom Durban July 2008. 2007 Horse of the Year, Pocket-Power and British-bred filly, Dancer's Daughter, dead-heated for first place in a spectacularly tense finish, with River Jetez, coming in at fourth place.

This was the third victory in a Durban July for Pocket Power's trainer, Mike Bass. Now considered one of South Africa's all-time racing greats, Pocket Power has also won the last two consecutive Queen's Plates and two J&B Metropolitan handicaps.

Dancer's Daughter's trainer, Justin Snaith, was elated at her shared win.

The only other dead-heat in the history of the premier Durban July was in 1967.

Equi-Feeds congratulates the connections of Pocket Power and Dancer's Daughter.
