Highlands stud cleans up
Feb 2012

The Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) was once again transformed into an indoor horse stable for three hundred and fifty thoroughbred horses that went on auction at the Cape Premier 2012 Yearling Sale on 26-27 January.

Highlands Stud once again showed what a remarkable stud farm it is by selling the highest priced yearling at the Sale which was also the highest priced yearling ever sold in the Western Cape. The flashy bay, son of Jet Master out of Our Table Mountain, was sold to Mike Bass Racing for R2.8 Million. Bass purchased seven lots for an average of R1,275 million per horse.

The following day, at the 2012 J&B Met, Highlands Stud had one of the most impressive winners of the day. Agra, a two-year-old Snaith-trained filly out of Trippi ridden by Felix Coetzee, won the Schweppes Summer Juvenile Stakes (Listed).

The Dynasty Cold Jackson, also bred at the Highlands Stud and trained by Brett Crawford, came home in first place at the Investec Cape Derby (Grade 1).

Equi-Feeds is proud to be associated with seven out of the ten winners at the 2012 J&B Met.
