FIBRE HORSE FEEDS

After water, fibre is the most important dietary requirement for any horse. With more than two-thirds of the horse’s digestive capacity almost entirely devoted to the digestion and absorption of nutrients from fibre, horses are natural fibre digesters. Fibre is found in many feed substances, such as in grass, hay, chaffs, cubes and mixes. Ensuring horses receive fibre in at least 50% of their diet satisfies both their physical need for fibre to maintain a healthy digestive function and tract as well as their psychological need to chew for 60% of the time as a form of activity.

Horses are natural fibre digesters.

KwikBeet offers a quick and convenient way of adding sugar beet to your horse’s diet. The rapid soaking flakes are ready to feed in 10 minutes, providing extra succulence in your horse’s diet. For horses that have difficulty chewing hay or haylage, KwikBeet can be used as a partial forage replacer, providing slow releasing energy from digestible fibre. KwikBeet is unmolassed and is suitable for horses and ponies at risk from laminitis.
